Description
The proposed attendance system for colleges aims to replace
traditional paper-based methods with RFID technology for enhanced
accuracy and efficiency. Each student is assigned a unique RFID tag
attached to their identity card, and each classroom is equipped with
a long-range RFID reader. The reader is automatically activated
during the first and last 10 minutes of the class, ensuring
comprehensive attendance tracking. To further improve accuracy, a
camera is integrated with the reader, capturing snapshots of the
class and cross-referencing faces with RFID data. This additional
measure addresses potential issues such as students leaving their
RFID tags behind. The system not only reduces the manual workload
for teachers but also provides a reliable and streamlined process
for recording attendance, minimizing errors and deviations.
